It's Been One Week
Seven full days of underwear for Mr. Ethan.
Zero day-time accidents. ZERO.
One night without accident as well.
We are DEFINITELY happy campers here!

funny how it's the little things that can make our week. Tell Ethan congratulations from Aunt Sue and Uncle Larry. It won't be long and Abby will be there too! Have a great "blizzard day" Love, Aunt Sue
All in their own time :-) It took forever to convince Nate. One day I just told him "We're out of diapers and I'm not buying anymore. It's time to go on the potty." Two days of wet pants and underwear later, and he decided I meant it and went on the potty from then on. There were accidents occasionally, but I never went anywhere without 2 changes of pants/underwear and plastic bags for the wet ones. Not fun, but it did the trick!
I have no tips because it has taken me a full year to get this done!
My ONLY advise which rings true all of the time is that the kids will do it when THEY'RE ready. I just hope Abby gets ready soon. ;)
Good luck with Matthew - be sure to give him lots of positive opportunities to go on the potty, and praise his efforts. We decided that any time at home will be in underwear instead of pull-ups. So, it means a lot of laundry, but it also means that the kids don't wet their pull-ups and then keep them on until I pressure them to change. Even Abby can't stand to be wet!
We're an active Catholic family of 4, with 2 dogs and 1 cat in the mix. Mark is a self-proclaimed geek. Trista is a stay-at-home mom. Abby is an adventurous 4-year old. Ethan is a caring 3-year old. Casey and Maggie are 2 fun-loving golden retrievers. Sawyer is a stray cat we've adopted. With lucky 7 in the house, what more could we want?

I wish I could get Matthew interested in going on the potty. Any advice?
